Results of the international conference “Nondestructive Testing Days-2025” in Sozopol (Bulgaria)
From June 9 to 13, 2025 in the picturesque town of Sozopol (Bulgaria) took place the international conference “Nondestructive Testing Days-2025” dedicated to modern technologies and innovations in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT). The event gathered more than 140 specialists from more than 30 companies and organizations of the European Union, including the Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania and others.
Conference organizers: Institute of Mechanics BAN (Sofia), Technical University (Varna), NPP “Kozloduy”, INNANOVA, Multitest, ControlOOD, etc.
Our contribution: innovative methods of ultrasonic rail inspection
Our team of specialists presented a report “Application of innovative developments in ultrasonic technology”, in which they spoke in detail about new trends in the field of non-destructive testing of rails. The report aroused keen interest among the conference participants and became the central topic of discussion at the round table. Special attention was paid to the issue of detecting defects in rail feathers – as one of the most difficult tasks in the field of railroad track diagnostics.
Feedback and exchange of experience
During the round table we received valuable feedback on the performance of our flaw detectors from operators and adjusters of Sofia railroad department and Sofia metro. The wishes for improvement of the flaw detector operation were passed on to our specialists for detailed analysis for future developments.
Also during the conference there was a separate round table devoted to modernization of flaw detector RDM-24, taking into account the specifics of the Bulgarian Railway, which contributes to an important exchange of experience and continuation of business relations between BZhD and NPP “MDR Grup”.
Technology Trends of the conference
The conference included five thematic sections:
- Non-destructive testing of materials, products and structures;
- Modern methods and technologies of nondestructive testing;
- Material inspection and learning new inspection techniques;
- Roundtables;
- Branded Presentations.
The presentations focused on the application of artificial intelligence and 3D modeling in nondestructive testing, as well as the formation of related documentation. Innovia and Grema 3D demonstrated state-of-the-art 3D scanners, which aroused great interest among all specialists related to practical work experience.
International cooperation
Our team of conference participants had the opportunity to exchange experience and establish business contacts with leading companies in the industry and continue networking in the professional sphere.
Conclusion
The Nondestructive Testing Days-2025 conference has become an important platform for sharing knowledge, discussing innovations and strengthening international professional ties. The developments and ideas presented at the event will help to improve the quality of diagnostics and safety in industry and transportation.
We thank the organizers and all participants for productive cooperation and look forward to new meetings and joint projects!
