Assignment
Direct and step start, control, protection and diagnostics of electric motors for pumps or industrial plants up to 160 kW.
Main Functions
Protection of the motor and equipment against damage from electrical overloads based on process sensor signals. The protection parameters used are reconfigurable during production or at the site of operation, including:
- against overcurrent and short-circuit;
- against underloading in operating current and at idle speed;
- from phase failure;
- from high or low supply voltage;
- from unbalanced currents;
- from the stress imbalance;
- from incorrect phase rotation of the supply voltage;
- from a decrease in the insulation resistance of the motor;
- from contactor “bounce” (repeated uncontrolled contactor energization), when connected to a low-power source;
- from exceeding the maximum permissible number of restarts per hour.
Functional features
1. Operation in manual and automatic modes.
2. Operation according to programs with adjustable parameters based on the signals of temperature, pressure, force, fluid flow sensors installed on the electric pump, pipeline or industrial equipment.
3. Operation in automatic mode with individual setting of date and time of switching on and switching off the electric motor.
4. Remote monitoring and control via GSM cellular network radio channel using local industrial network or global Internet network.
3. Recording and storing in the station controller’s memory all events occurring with the electric motor and pump or connected equipment, with recording of operating parameters at the time of the event (operational on and off, emergency shutdown).
4. Creation and registration of time diagrams of operating parameters (motor current, liquid level and flow rate, pressure and temperature in the pipeline, rod pump rod force) for a certain period of time with the possibility of their further viewing and printing.
5. Display:
- operating parameters and alarm cause symbols on the integrated display;
- on the operator’s connected computer (directly at the station or remotely using the industrial network) – operating parameters, history of occurred events, time diagrams of operating parameters, resettable protection parameters.
Additional features
The control, protection and diagnostic stations for electric pumps can be integrated into a national, regional or company-wide monitoring and control network, if required.
The system consists of:
- control and measuring stations and control and protection stations of POTOK series, united in groups from 2 to 500 stations by territorial, technological or other characteristics;
- one or more supervisory control centers;
- one or more information storage points (servers) linking the stations and control points into a single network.
Communication between the stations and the server(s) is carried out via radio channel with free radio frequencies (GSM cellular network), using the open Internet network.
Information transmitted in the network is encrypted. Access to the system is locked with passwords of different complexity depending on the functions performed by the operator, namely: monitoring the status of the stations, control of the stations, access to information stored on the stations and server, resetting the protection parameters of the electric pump, reconfiguration of the network parameters.
Design
The POTOK series control station is housed in a metal cabinet and is protected against dust and moisture.
Has in its composition:
- control unit with microcontroller;
- contactors for switching on the load, namely: pump electric motor, electric motors of controlled pipeline gate valves and other devices;
- circuit breakers and protection elements of the load and control unit;
- built-in sensors (current, voltage) and terminals for connection of external sensors (pressure, temperature, level and flow rate);
- GSM network radio modem with antenna.
