Ultrasonic tester UZT-RDM
Ultrasonic tester UZT-RDM is designed for metrological verification, standardization and verification of parameters and characteristics of ultrasonic flaw detectors and thickness gauges, as well as their components, including piezoelectric transducers (PEPs), for compliance with normative and technical documentation during the development, production and operation of devices.
The tester consists of an electronic unit and a set of connecting cables necessary for creating schemes for measuring parameters.
Electronic unit of the tester in the
- radio pulse source with adjustable amplitude, duration, time delay, frequency and number of fill periods, as well as normalized initial phase;
- A digital oscilloscope including a signal amplitude and frequency meter, a spectrum analyzer, a time interval meter and a matrix display;
- PEP excitation pulse generator with a wide bandwidth of frequency spectrum of output signals.

Measurement of parameters of electronic units of flaw detectors and thickness gauges:
- sensitivity of the receiver on the input of the PEP connection;
- the range and absolute error of the receiver gain control;
- range and deviation of the amplitude response of the receiving path from the nominal one;
- adjustment range and absolute error of the attenuator attenuation setting;
- range and error of measurement of signal amplitude ratios at the input and output of the receiver;
- time parameters of signal registration zones in the control channel (delay and duration of zones);
- time parameters of indication zones (light, sound) for automatic defect detectors (ADS) of control channels;
- Amplitude characteristics of multi-threshold signal registration systems;
- amplitude characteristics of multi-threshold ASD indication systems;
- amplitude-temporal parameters of the temporal sensitivity control (TSC) characteristic;
- measuring range and error of built-in time interval meters, including the range and error of the depth measuring device of the electronic unit;
- adjustment range and adjustment error of threshold indicators of ASD systems;
- interference cutoff level;
- parameters of PEP excitation pulse generators on load equivalents;
- the pulse frequency of the flaw detector.
Measurement of PEP parameters:
- Impulse double conversion factor ;
- the operating frequency of the PEEP fuu;
- PEEP input angle;
- location of the entry point marking on the PEP housing;
- is the width of the main lobe of the PEP radiation pattern;
- reverberation-noise characteristics of the PEP;
- time of sound propagation in the prism;
- Normalization and verification of compliance with the unambiguous polarity of piezoelements of transmitting and receiving resonators of separate-coupled thickness-measuring PEPs;
- instantaneous echo impulse values and their deviations from nominal values.
